Elisa Cereda

Artist, lecturer, and researcher in creative and educational processes

Foto elisa 4.jpeg

An artist and researcher of the creative gesture, fascinated since childhood by artistic forms, natural materials, and processes of transformation. Her vision arises from the interweaving of art, craftsmanship, design, and human development, brought together in a continuous exploration of essential beauty, awareness, and autonomy.

Her artistic training is rooted in the four years spent at the Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts in Como, where she deepened her skills in painting, drawing, and modelling. Alongside these studies, she pursued years of training in ancient crafts and manual techniques (weaving, spinning, natural dyeing, tailoring, and theatre costume design), which would become an integral part of her expressive and pedagogical language.

She continued her studies with a complete training in Waldorf Pedagogy and obtained the FSEA Certificate in Adult Education Facilitation, strengthening her expertise in adult learning.

For over ten years, she taught at the Steiner schools of Origlio and Locarno, bringing students painting, sculpture, modelling, technical drawing, handcraft, weaving, and manual work through an experiential, inclusive approach deeply centred on the development of individual talents. Since 2025, she has also taught Art History at the Sant’Anna Institute in Lugano, continuing to unite rigour, aesthetic care, and pedagogical vision.

In parallel, she has developed extensive experience as a textile designer, interior designer, and craftswoman, collaborating with studios and companies on fabric creation, seasonal collections, and design projects. Her design practice also extends to private construction, renovation, and the care of living spaces, with particular attention to sustainability, natural materials, and conscious building processes.

Over the years, she has cultivated a personal research path exploring the relationship between art, self-sufficiency, and awareness, integrating artistic techniques with inner development to facilitate transformative processes for adults and adolescents. She teaches painting, drawing, and applied arts as pathways of self-exploration, presence, and creative autonomy.

She currently coordinates training projects, workshops, and artistic programmes within Ars Vitae Academy, bringing an approach that blends vision, artistic discipline, and a deep understanding of educational processes.

Her name reflects her nature: Elisa, “the dedicated one,” she who brings dedication and care into everything she does.

And into her art she brings a simple yet powerful motto: “Beauty is a daily gesture of truth.”
